Pattern-making

I'm curious about pattern-making because I want to understand the bones of sewing, like the way understanding concepts and algorithms helps me code. or something like that.... I still need to learn how to make basic blocks and then how to from blocks до to patterns, but I think it will be fun. I want to be able to make things without relying on predefined patterns.... 2015-09-256 Besides, there's something appealingly parametric about pattern-making, and I want to get the hang of it. (Hmm, looks like there are a few Projects around dynamically generating SVGs based on measurements...)
